At Bent Willow Farm we strive to raise all our animals in an environment that is healthy and natural. Year round our sheep have continuous access to shelter and outside. The sheep are free to come and go as they please within the fenced pastures. In the winter the sheep are fed hay outside to promote exercise and provide fresh air. During lambing, intervention from the shepard occurs only for medical reasons, ewes frequently like to lamb in private and take care of matters themselves. Lambs are born starting in April and remain with their mothers until three months of age, at which time they are weaned. Once weaned the ram lambs are placed with the other rams, the ewe lambs return with their mother and the other ewes. When the pasture starts to grow, approximately May, the lambs will feed on managed pastures. In October any lambs that we believe do not met the Jacob standard are culled and sold as meat. When ordering whole & half lambs a customers desired cuts can be selected from the options below, however this must be prior to October 1st. After October 1st only standard cuts are available, click on link below to see the list.
